Eko Brunei is one of the partners of Earth Hour in Brunei in 2019. We will switch off the lights on March 30th from 8:30pm - 9:30pm, make sure you switch them off too.
For those who never heard about this event before, here it goes a brief explanation - Earth Hour is a WWF movement to create awareness on environmental issues by encouraging everybody to switch off their non-essential lights for one hour, this is just a way to remind people across the world to live a more eco-friendly and sustainable life not just during “Earth Hour” day but every day throughout the year.
This movement started in Australia in 2017 and since then has gained millions of supporters and it spread to more than 185 countries.
A very important question you might be asking yourselves is - What has been achieved so far by this movement?
We can name a few to start with and you can find much more on the official Earth Hour Brunei website.
- Three villages in India without electricity received solar powered lights.
- Thailand and Taiwan schools received educational programs.
Go to their website and find out how to participate and much more https://www.earthhour.org.bn/ and don’t forget to use the hashtag #connect2earth
